Its authors could not see beyond their metaphors, the mind

Being but matter.

No matter:

The African Arab takes the cause of the culture that enslaved him;

Yet we shall find cause in the culture we are raised in

To turn in and break out; silkworm and moth,

One creature, one cloth.
