Telephone - Description

A telephone is a device that translates one's speech into analog electrical signals, allowing them to engage in communication over extended distances. The word telephone is Greek for "far away voice". Originally, all telephone transmissions took place over land based phone lines, but in recent times more and more people have been using cellular phones, satellit e phones, and other wireless technology.
