Sweaterimport.com to donate to Tennyson Center for Children

Wray CO, July 26, 2005 – We celebrate the opening of sweaterimport.com in donating $5 from each sale through the end of 2005 to the Tennyson Center for Children in Colorado (tennysoncenter.org).

Since 1904, Tennyson Center for Children at Colorado Christian Home has been helping children. Today, programs include residential, day treatment and outpatient services and the Tennyson Center for Children sets the pace as a nationally-respected child service provider.

Tennyson Center provides beneficial, caring services for children and their families through the following:

* Residential Treatment: An intensive treatment program designed for children whose safety is in jeopardy, and/or who cannot function safely in the community. The Residential Program operates 24-hours a day, seven days a week, and provides care, treatment and education to children, ages 5-14, who have survived horrific abuse and neglect. * Special Education/Day Treatment: A program that provides therapeutic and special education services to children who have not been able to function in a public school environment because of significant behavioral and emotional difficulties. * Special Services Unit: Includes three programs to help families break cycles of abuse, neglect and violence. Respite Services are available to provide a child and family an often-necessary break from each other. Sub-Acute Services are designed to help children stabilize when they are in immediate crisis and the Assessment/Diagnostic Program determines safety, level of family functioning and permanency planning. * Community-Based Family Services: These services provide in-home individual and family therapy to bring about the necessary changes that allow children to safely remain in a home environment, or to ease the adjustment and continue the therapeutic work of a family reuniting with a child that has been placed outside of the home.

Our church has long supported the Colorado Christian Home by creating quilts for the Christian Home’s quilt sales. We decided that donating a percentage of the sales profits at sweaterimport.com would assist this worthy and struggling non-profit further.
