By: Mark Steven, Fri Apr 7th, 2006 05:05:09 PM

Against the will of Gravity, Rise with Gurgaon The Blocks and the Dice

When major wars were fought, when Pandavas succeeded and when India moved from legends till the last of the occupiers left, there remained a small patch of land to the west of Delhi which after centauries of barrenness became pregnant with the dreams of many. That was Gurgaon, the land offered to the Guru Dronacharya by the eldest of the Pandavas, Yudhishtar. The district that throbbed each time with each ruler finally marked its boundaries on August 15, 1979 attaining its present form with nine blocks to play the dice. Yes, dice with a different motive and blocks with the real game; Gurgaon has turned to be the best offer with each change of hands. Like the old wine, the older it got, the better it became. So, let’s get introduced folks; welcome to Gurgaon, from malls to properties and from dreams to reality, the voyage shall call back the Sinbad in you.

Pace, Base and Race

I am the harbinger of destiny, I convince you with the reality; let me take you to the heart of the facts. Gurgaon is cute and the charm has many faces; a district of Haryana, what has appeared as the most essential attractiveness of this hub of business, is the proximity it enjoys with the decision making spot of the nation, Delhi. Form there, when the heart beats, the blood as investment reaches the hub; and when the blood flows, Gurgaon is lit like the lamp. What the heart gets in return is the strength, support and vigor to continue beating. The end result was the growth of a towering presence, a soft autumn phenomenon with the essence of the Wild West. Life, fashion and trends; money, estates and blends all has an origin in Gurgaon. The city started growing with a pace never seen elsewhere, companies started setting their base and people flocked in to join the race.

Where the clock ticks faster

Gurgaon has started setting standards; the credit goes to the identification of those sectors that remained for a long time yonder, away from the vision. I speak of real estate and property investment, which marveled in the creation of Gurgaon; marveled under the presence of such institutions like the DLF. The venture was profitable and finally culminated with the creation of the one of Asia’s largest township. Ten kilometers from the Indira Gandhi International Airport and you are on to Gurgaon where the clock ticks faster; you are packed into the space where against the will of gravity you have to rise. And up the world before you reach the skies look down and find the last of the spots where you could start up a new venture; the offer is open, you could close the date.
