A Lonely Road For Opportunity SeekersBy: Robert Short, Thu Dec 8th, 2005 08:45:07 PM Like many of us in the "opportunity niche", we know we are going to make it. We know that it is just a matter of time before we use the right combination of the right ingredients in the right recipe to complete our life long quest for success. To a fortunate few the quest is a short road but if you are like most of us, you have spent countless hours studying the work of others, spent hundreds and even thousands of dollars on information, books, e-books, and programs, tried and failed and tried and failed again. Unfortunately, that is the easy part. The hard part is trying to convince our friends and loved ones that we are headed in the right direction with statements like "its going to work this time," "I realize what went wrong with the last one" to "you'll see" or I'll show you." You have probably heard things like "why don't you start focusing on your job?" "Stop wasting your time!," "if it were that easy everyone would be doing it", to "when are you going to give it up?" or simply "It'll never work!" Yet we keep on pushing forward never losing sight of our dreams and ignoring the pessimism of our loved ones and friends. If you are like me you have realized it is not their fault. You have realized or will realize that you were fortunate enough to be giving a gift. A gift that allows you the ability to see things that are not yet there and to keep reaching no matter how many times you get beaten down and stomped on by your own inability to make that what you see work. (Article continued below)
There's good news! When you finally make it, as I feel I have, you won't be lonely anymore. All of the people in your life that never had anything positive to say will start saying things like "I knew you could do it" or "I had faith in you the whole time" or "are you hiring?" And if your wife is anything like mine, instead of saying things like "What did you do with all the money you a-hole" she'll now say things like "yes dear!" or a simple "I love you" more often than ever before. You'll start hearing her brag to her friends about you when she talks on the phone! It almost makes making a years salary in a month seem irrelevant (almost). Anyway, my point is that no matter how lonely it may seem at times if you don't lose your vision you will be embraced by the ones who have fought you the whole time when you finally do succeed. And if it makes you feel any better there are literally thousands of people out there going through exactly what we have/are going through. So in a sense we are never alone the whole time. Never lose sight of your dreams and never stop your quest for the knowledge that will eventually free your soul no matter how lonely you may seem to be!
