Have you ever heard any of this before?

1."Exchange links and improve your search engine rankings!"

2."Only exchange links with similar sites, these links are of more value to your site."

3."Make sure you only exchange links with sites who have a Google PR of 4 and above."

4."One way links are of much more value to your site than reciprocal links"

5."If you want to increase the number of visitors to your website it is crucial that you have a top search engine position."

6."Exchange links with any sites you can and increase your traffic."

We are sure you have. This is the reciprocal linking advice being given daily to webmasters by the webs self-proclaimed "Guru's" and "Experts". Some of the above linking advice is only partly true, and some of it is complete nonsense.

Honest Links is a place where serious webmasters can be re-educated that the point of reciprocal linking is traffic, NOT rankings, a place where those who understand can find other link partners of the same mindset, and a place where webmasters can meet and help each other with all sorts of site related problems.

Unless like they say If you are at the top of the search engines and receiving thousands of free visitors a day, you can stop here, there site is of no use to you. If like 98% of sites on the web you are not, then the above advice is like a breath of fresh air. So from one Webmaster to another just go look at what they have to say at http://www.honestlinks.net/ what do you have to lose but a little of your time, I know for me what they had to say made a lot of sense and I got excited again about what I was doing.

Option 1- Open you eyes for the first time.

I would like access to a community of webmasters who are willing to exchange QUALITY and VISIBLE links with my site. I would like to receive free visitors to my site, knowing that with each quality link I exchange I am improving my visibility to the search engines AND receiving traffic while I wait for my rankings to improve.

Option 2- Do nothing, I like playing the Pr up and down game.

I can't see the logic in any of this. Even though my site is not getting thousands of free visitors yet I will continue to hope my site gets to the top of the search engines and manages to stay there.
